How do I measure Boydfat? - UK-Muscle Body Building Community

Seen alot of things on BF% but realy don't know what I am, would help if I knew as then I could see alot of where I need to go with eating etc.

you dont really know what you are? i reckon you might be a human being possibly?

where to go with eating? i would try burger king but only on weekends otherwise you may get fat

calipers are one option if you actually want a % to work from.. how accurate it'll be is another matter really but you will be able to tell if its going up or down..

tape measure or the mirror will do though as it doesnt really matter all that much what the percentage actually is.

You can use body fat callipers however without a bit of tuition on how to use them you may get some bad results.

Another 'easier' way is to use bio-electrical, I used to use the Omron which was strangely accurate to when I was measured in a hydrostatic tank!

As Andy says, depends on your goals and if you get really want to get fussy over figures or use looks to gauge!

id love to know my bf, i did it on a machine last week and it said 23% cheeky fukk, i know thats bollocks as it does it by a ratio of height/ weight, so in a way it made me happy im above average weight for my height, but i still dont know my bf GRRRRR!!!

....cost me 50p too!!

The bio electrical have a whole set of assumptions attached to them - one of the biggest being hydration levels...

See if you have a University or something near you that can do a hydrostatic measurement - very accurate!

If thats your picture I would say you are 10-12%.

machine said my bf% was 15.

my six pack is ripped out along with renal artery/vien out of my arm, and calipers measure me at 7.6%.

Why measure, you know when you are carrying extra fat. It should show anyway! As suggested above, use the mirror frequently.
