New Diet Sorted

As many know i have been trying to battle my food fussyness and come up with an improved diet. I am starting training seriously at the start of may as the new rugby season starts in september, i want to get my self in tip top form.
New diet is as follows

7-30 am - frostie cereal with milk - orange juice drink
10-45 am - 2 pieces of chicken, white barm cake, water
1 pm - 4 pieces of chicken or 2 chicken and roast potatoes , water
3 30 pm - fruit smoothie ( banana, strawberries, orange juice ) and 2 white toasted muffins.
5 to 5 30 pm - steak, pork, bernad matthews cod, hake or haddock, chicken fajithas, lean burgers with oven chips that are less then 5 % fat. Or roast potatoes.
8pm protein shake
10 pm - 2 white toasted muffins and maybe some wafer thin ham

That is monday to friday
This is what i have come up with so far. Not the best but an improvement from:

breaky - biscuits
break - cereal bar, crisp, capri sonne
dinner - fryed chips or wedges, capri sonne
snack - crisps, biscuits or chocolate
tea - chips, nuggets etc, fast foods
snack on crisps etc

I have cut out junk food and fast food.

I just wanted to make sure that there is nothing that should 100% be added or removed etc, as i start a training journal in may and dont want to be still sorting it out then.
Is that a notable enough improvement for me to advance in gains ?

thanks,

Re: New Diet Sorted

Petit pains - White bread? big no no, and use granary or wholemeal bread instead.

100g ham - not great quality protien and amount is too low, think this would only supply around 18g protien, try around 150g-200g of turkey ham or beef slices.

Hope this helps.

I really gotta agree, for a guy that is obviously keen to get to the top of your game, your diet is way off, we all eat stuff we dont want to, ask any bodybuilder that has dieted for a show (including me), but we all want the end results, I guess it just boils down to how much you want it.

In short, your diet is not good, you will not grow your muscles to your potential, you will of course grow, but only as you are young and any calorie you put in now will make you grow, but its the quality of growth you must strive to achieve, and im not talking about you being muscle bound as i realise thats not what you want, im talking about dense, thick muscles with strength and stamina combined.

I wonder if Johnny Wilkinson would approve of this diet?

Sorry to be harsh, but if you get it right now, the dividends will pay in the future, why dont you PM PScarb or TinyTom, their diet advice is second to none and they are always willing to help.

And a diet to grow can contain some really tasty foods, its just a matter of learning which ones!

Re: New Diet Sorted

Its just hard getting my head around all of the good foods.

Im 16 and only just started eating steak, pork, roast potatoes etc, been having fruit smoothie and not touched fruit in 10 years.

I wasnt looking for a perfect bodybuilding diet, but trying to notably improve my old one.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

No ones saying your diet needs to be perfect, just realistic for your goals.

Heres one I knocked up for you - play with the macros yourself:

7-30 am - 4eggs scrambled with either 50g butter or 4 slices wholemeal toast. Black coffee.

10-45 am - 2 pieces of chicken + rice + green veg

1 pm - 2 chicken and roast potatoes + green veg, water

3 30 pm - Oats + Protein + Berries

5 to 5 30 pm - Meat + Carb Source + Veg

8pm Protein shake with oats

10 pm - Cottage Cheese / Scambled Eggs
