Re: Bedtime protein ?

I'm having whey in full fat milk at the moment.

Whey is fairly quick digesting but the milk contains casein and the fat slows it down too.

You could buy casein powder if you wanted but it's quite expensive.

Re: Bedtime protein ?

So casein is what we are looking for in a bed time protein? Is this primarily in dairy products?

Yes, it's a milk protein.

There's lots of it in cottage cheese, and very little fat.

Stuff like steak is obviously going to be slow digesting too, but I couldn't eat steak just before bed myself, plus it's hassle, whereas a shake is made and necked in about 1 minute flat
