Peanut butter

I have been reading that a lot of you add peanut butter to your foods.

I have just purchased some, after looking at many types i choose the following, what do you think, or is there better?

Whole earth smooth organic
roasted peanuts (92%)
palm oil
sea salt

per 100g

energy 2466 kj
595 kcal
protein 24.6g
carbs 9.9g (3.7 of which sugars)
fat 50.8g (9.1 of which saturates)
fibre 7.1g
sodium 0.4g
salt 1.0g

Cheers

Palm oil contains a high percentage of saturated fat.

I tend to favour the Meridian or Suma brands(no additives) as my PB source

I'm sure the Tesco's own or Whole earth variety will do you no harm however my thinking is if there is a superior choice out there, without the extra salt and nasty fat, then why not use it

Re: Peanut butter

The non-organic WE PB contains a higher % of peanuts, 97% i think so by the time you factor in 1g of salt and 97% peanut in 100g theres only 2g of plam oil.

So aslong as its not the main stay for your fat intake the palm oil and salt content is not a major issue.

I use it as its stocked at my local Tesco's were as Meridian or Suma are not. But as i'm dieting for a show i have switched over to Sumo for the time being.
But again PB is not my main fat source.

HTH
