Because food and whey contain sufficient amino's? Yes, but they're peptide bound. BCAA's are a 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, IsoLeucine and Valine. Free form to, they're absorbed straight into the bloodstream. A few grams of BCAA have been shown to spike blood plasma's much more than a dose of say whey protein. Around workouts is, in my opinion, the best time to take them. The average male has about 4-5litres of blood throughout the body, I think its about 25% of this intra-muscularly at rest. When working out around 70% (cant remember exact numbers they're in my notes at home)....so pre, during and post workout are the optimum times to get BCAA's in. Or just in between meals. Have you ever tried them mate? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: BCA's Fits, I've only started using them in this way 2 weeks ago, I used to take a lot of BCAA tablets but got little or no noticeable effect, but I have recently been reading up on pre, peri and post workout nutrition and as a result have begun experimenting with the powder. I add it to 40g whey pre-workout, 20g whey during the workout, and 60g whey and 50g simple carbs post workout ( also 5g creatine mono in each ). As to the quality of the product, I believe myprotein show their lab test results etc on their website I used to use a lot of glutamine too, and same as you, when the budget had to be cut it was off the list!

i should have posted why really ..lol ... im not saying there not useful... but they are very overlooked...in terms of say Whey...creatine... even NO products... most people tend to shoot past bcaas as they already get it from a different source... i've tried them and tbh i didn't see to much of difference to me in the way of growth... or muscle loss when i came off them... maybe there where too many factors..i.e diet and training wasn't right... might give the powder a whirl...see if i can be converted!... reps for the info tho! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: BCA's they are not as 'flashy' as creatine or mass builders or hormone enhancing supps so they get over looked allot. but they do a job. and there is allot of research on the effects now days.I read in MD about people taking a mixtured of certain aminos morning and night time...burns victims i think, to stop muscle wasting.....and they recon they actually gains some lean weight....... they definatel have there places. I think my next order wil be with Myprotein and ill get some. Bcaa's and glatamine and whey and slow releasing protein and CEE. the only problem is last time i went on i was making my own formulars for abotu 3 hours LOL and ended up turning off the pc after not ordering anything lol :beer1: |
