![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Eating 3 times a day I know once every 2/3 hours is ideal and means 6 meals a day but im finding it really hard over xmas. If i make it 3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner should i just eat more at each sitting? Should i aim to eat certain foods that are slow digesting? suggestions ? Thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Eating 3 times a day The problem with that is that you will be stuffing in alot of food at one sitting, meaning that it'll take longer to digest. I tried doing it the other day because i was in a rush and felt so sick. Eating more meals throughout the day doesn't only make you digest quicker, but it also gives your muscles more energy throughout the day, making you train better and feeding your muscles alot more efficiently than the usual 3 meals a day. Hope that help Liam bud. |

Gets me down when i miss meals and i end up eating ****. Just thought if i plan to get 3 decent meals a day would be ok for the time being. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Eating 3 times a day Yeah, it's incredibly difficult and i haven't got it right yet. Going to go off the diet and gym for a week over xmas. I need more money to buy food never mind implement it lol. What i do is cook the night before, so i have everything there ans there is no way i can miss a meal, i find this the best way to do it. It will take an hour of your time, but you can just shove it on and watch tv, so it doesn't really take any of your time at all! |

| Too much PT isn't enough PT | Re: Eating 3 times a day Maybe you could supplement with protein bars, not ideal I know but atleast your still getting some sort of food. There's some good recipies in the recipie section and they're easy to make and last for few days.

![]() ![]() | Re: Eating 3 times a day I guess the problem with 3 meals a day is that it will hinder your metabolism, i.e. slow it down a little, you may be young enough for this not to me an issue, but for us older guys keeping the metabolism stoked with 6 smaller meals is the way to go, also easier on the digestive system, better release of energy througout the day. I understand your concern though, for me, when I am stuggling I add a meal replacement, I find Pro Plex from USN prety good, one serving around 300 calories, good balance of protein & carbs, but obviously where possible I always choose good quality food, I have to plan the night before for the next day, my kitchen looks like a military campaign,..... lol |

| aka Jimmy | Re: Eating 3 times a day Ill have a wager with you here Liam mate, I bet you can do it but make sure they are solid quality meals, try for 4, but if its 3 then its 3, my guess is you'll still gain and not lose weight. Its dieting where you really need to space them out to aid in a quicken metabolism. Go for it mate, it might work well for you, if im not mistaken Mr JL used to do this off season although he's changed his approach now.

Surely you have time to mix a shake and drink it twice a day? Just eat what Jimmy suggested and add a couple of shakes. Bingo - you're done. Protein bars are ok, just shouldn't be a regular thing IMO.

The thing is a your age you'll get a way with eating 3 big meals but you won't get enough cals in if it's good food. You'll have to include some junk food for calories and thats what you where trying to avoid. My answer get 3 good meals in a day of quality food then eat everything else in sight when not eating these, it's christmas enjoy your self. Better to eat sh1t than nothing at all - thats a golden rule for you right there. |
