I drink a bit of Diet Coke myself. Diet fizzy drinks do not have many calories and are ok on that score, however the reason they are bad for you is all of the 'E numbers' also aspartame is said to cause cancer (not proven though).

I'm partial to the odd coke zero. TT loves Pepsi Max & it's certainly done him no harm...

Re: coke zero advice please

a quote on wikipedia stated that coke 'has no nutritional value'. all it has is coloured water, gas, aspartame and other e numbers. I see more than a million cans of it a day... I work at one of the coke warehouses.... Northampton's 'House of Liquid Death'

The cancer thing was a test with rats I think, they gave them rediculous amounts of it and some of them contracted cancer. I think the human equivalent was something like 1000's of grams.

Yup very true. Not sure of the exact amount but the human equivalents are near improssible to consume.

I would'nt have the coke zero too close to bed time as it contains a little caffeine. Even a little may disrupt the quality of your sleep. I would save it for when you're sick to death of water and fancy something with a little taste- well that's what i do anyway.

Re: coke zero advice please

Coke zero is just diet coke. Any fizzy drink is bad for you, that's why i never drink them, but if you like it then go for it. It won't really affect your diet, just might make you burp abit lol.

Ouch! Mate, 4 litres? Looking at the ingredients I wouldn't want to drink it in those quantities. Think of the chemicals.

As far as I know citric/phosphoric acid is linked to osteoporosis on women and is other wise used as a rust remover and to roughen the surfaces of teeth for the placement of fillings etc.

Potassium benzoate in excessive quanities can irritate the skin and mucous membranes and when combined with vitamin C can form benzene which is a known carcinogenic.

Dunno about the others but they can't be good in those quanities.
