![]() | I have a problem, I train late and get home at 10:15 at night. I usually have a protin shake as I leave the gym at 10:00. When I get home I will eat again and have something like 2 real mince burgers and 1 slice grannary bread or 2 turkey steaks and a jacket potatoe. I know that I shouldn't eat before bed, but how else can I replenish my body after training unless I eat before bed? |

| is 6 weeks out from his winners massage not the kind itraininthedark had lol | Re: EAT LATE = BIG PROBLEM? ok if you leave the gym at 10 and get home at 10.15 then skip the protein shake and have a decent sized meal like, chicken, sweetpotato and veg when your home, then go to bed at about 11 or whatever time you go........your body will use that meal and it wont be stored!!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: EAT LATE = BIG PROBLEM? The idea of carbs being stored as fat kind of depend on a few things. The GI and GL of the carbs you are eating/drinking, the higher they are the more likely you will put on fat (because high blood sugars cause insulin release) however as you will have just worked out there's less (if no) point in worrying about it as exercise has been shown to lower the rate that glucose is stored in bodyfat for ~24hr (I think it goes upto a max of 36hr). Just don't take in much fat at night and you should be alright.

Squat this,as i understand it,as long as your body is utilising the food as fuel then you can eat fats or carbs with no problem. As Pscarb states, the problem arises when you have taken in more calories(Pro,Carbs or Fat) than you need as these surplus cals will not be used effectively but stored as fat. |
