How to work out your cals properly!

Just been on fitday and the measures are ****e, am I back to working out by reading labels and measuring food??? Surely its got to be easier!

Well, the fact that it gives measurements of "a cup of" doesnt say what size "a cup" is, would be easier if it let you add in grammes surely mate?!

Not necessarily, a cup is a measure of quantity wheras grams are a measure of weight. Everyone has a cup in their cupboard but not everyone has scales.

Go to any superstore and look in the home section, you will find on most measuring jugs, there is a measure for cups.

why don't you just input the labels of your foods into fitday.com this is what i do....

either that or set up your own spreadsheet with the foods you eat, splitting it for each meal of the day into protein fats and carbs, quite easy really, Ive used this technique for the last three years. Theres a bit of effort when first setting it up but after that its just adding different types of food you might eat.

xtrainer software is a little more detailed and easier to use than fitday. but it 's not free. But I found it easier to input measurements on that than fitday. Though fitday is always online and waiting whereas I always loose my xtrainer settings! :(
