Re: Cottage Cheese

I sometimes mix it into a shake. Some people put chocolate protein powder on it for flavour.

Re: Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is filled with Cassiene (a slow digesting milk protein) so its ideal for blending into a shake at night.

I mix it with fruit and bio yogurt in the day for a healthy low fat high protein snack.

Re: Cottage Cheese

200g cottage cheese gives you 25g protein...as mentioned, slow digesting which is perfect for night-time. When you buy go for the low-salt variety and, if you dont mind some additional carbs so late in the day, stir in some honey to mask the taste. Alternatively you could buy cottage cheese with pineapple already added off the supermarket shelf.

As alternatives, provided you have the time and can be bothered, try
a 100g grilled chicken breast plus 20ml olive oil, or
a couple of fried eggs or
100g red meat

.... anything from a quality souirce that is slow to digest
