Banana PWO?

Hi..I'm new to the board.. and have been browsing the threads over the past week or so... excellent forum w/ loads of activity!

Anyway, my question is to SD - Yes.. I know you're NOT a doctor ; ) - in a recent thread you recommend banana PWO ...but I normally add a couple of scoops of Dextrose....as it's high GI.. however, banana is rich in essential minerals (Na, K, Mg) and provides B Vits BUT has a more moderate GI.... if we look at the sugar profile..isn't dextrose best in PWO shake?

Also, havent looked into this, but a recent chart i found on google shows that GI malto is higher than Glucose.. so how do we decide on whether to choose malto/ dex/ banana PWO?

If you buy bulk malto/ dex it works out cheaper than banana (unless of course you're on holiday in india!)

Re: Banana PWO?

Go for Waxy Maize Starch immediately PWO, then whey protein 20mins later.

Re: Banana PWO?

Banana's are a decent PWO snack but make sure they are slightly brown as this makes them a higher GI food...but nothing is going to be better than WMS for replacing glycogen PWO
