fizzy drinks

i heard somewhere that there is a chemical in carbonated drinks such an coke and lemonade that can disrupt muscle growth and hamper gains..... this may be a silly question...... but is this true???

Re: fizzy drinks

I just herd the gasses expand your intestine etc so food passes through quicker.....so you get much less absorbition of protiens & nutriants etc, not sure on that one thought. Plus the high sugar content cant help too much.

Anyone else ?

Re: fizzy drinks

i once was taking a protein shake that contained an additive called Aspartame, which is a carcinogenic, (cancer causing) so switched powders, then realised it was also contained in diet coke, so i had to stop drinking that too!

There have also been studies that link even diet sodas with expanding waist lines. Stick to water guys or at the most fresh juice not from concentrate.

Re: fizzy drinks

Nothing wrong with diet pepsi, coke etc.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have 6 litres a day of the stuff, but if I've had my usual 3-4 litres of water throughout the day, I might neck the odd glass at home during the evening.

Re: fizzy drinks

Diet coke has aspartame in... so drink coke andget fat or drink aspartame and ruin your health. Met-Rx sachets were known for Aspartame and when I started using it heavily I get headache but thought nothing of it untill I colleuge grabbed my box of 60 sachets and went on about aspartame to me and one of the signs was headache..

Water has water in it...init!! safe bet. If I want something fizzy and sweet I drink Appletizer..

Appletiser - Made from 100% Apples, No added sugar, No added colours, No preservatives.
