What protein bars are they? Who manufacturers them? Also, protein bars are completely different to bananas. Protein bars obviously have protein in them, bananas have potassium and carbohydrates. What are your stats? Whats your current diet? Welcome to the board dude.

An energy drink would be your best bet 30 mins prior to your workout. Having said that, many guys drink energy drinks whilst they're training. If it's just a stimulant your after for training, maybe pop down to a local health shop & check out the stimulant tablets they have, or have a look on the sponsers within the forum. What's your current diet dude?

Protein bars are full of cr1p, preservatives, colourings, sugar, sodium, not much better than junk food. Make your own protein bars, there are lots of recipes. Have a look in the recipe section and use the best ingredients you can afford. SD
