help!

hi all, i was just wondering about these protien bars that i have seen on the net. are they any good?

i sumtimes go straight to the gym from work (depending what shift i am on) and was thinking of trying a protien bar while on way to gym for an extra boost.

would a protien bar be a gud thing to have?or would i be better with sumthing like a banana?

thanks

What protein bars are they? Who manufacturers them?

Also, protein bars are completely different to bananas. Protein bars obviously have protein in them, bananas have potassium and carbohydrates.

What are your stats? Whats your current diet? Welcome to the board dude.

Re: help!

I'm glad you said lean muscle.

Protein bars isn't really a source of food you want to be having if your training.

An energy drink would be your best bet 30 mins prior to your workout. Having said that, many guys drink energy drinks whilst they're training.

If it's just a stimulant your after for training, maybe pop down to a local health shop & check out the stimulant tablets they have, or have a look on the sponsers within the forum.

What's your current diet dude?

Re: help!

65g a day!!? That sounds way too low. I'd be interested to actually see a typical day's eating plan.

7 1/2 hours cardio on 65g of carbs per day and you arent dead yet? I would think you havent been following this diet very long or you have mis-calculated. Although our ancestors ate as much as 80% protein in there diet :smoke:

Protein bars are full of cr1p, preservatives, colourings, sugar, sodium, not much better than junk food. Make your own protein bars, there are lots of recipes. Have a look in the recipe section and use the best ingredients you can afford.
