Omega 3 DHA/EPA Ratio

I recently read that ideally an omega 3 supplement will contain a higher percentage of DHA compaerd to EPA.

However as most fish have a higher percentage of EPA most fish oil supplements also have more EPA than DHA.

I have only found 2 fish oil supplements with more DHA than EPA, those being the Biotest 'flameout' and chemical nutrition 'Pro Lipid'.

Is it worth taking this into consideration or should I just buy a typical fish oil supplement?

Secondly, the Pro Lipid Caps also have a large amount of Omega 6 (about 50/50 with the Omega 3) am I right in thinking that it is not necessary to supplement omega 6? Or have I got that completely wrong?

SO basically is it important to have more DHA than EPA?
And should I get a supp with Omega 6 in?

Re: Omega 3 DHA/EPA Ratio

No need to supplement Omega 6 fatty acids, you get enough of those in your diet naturally.
The ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 should be 1/1 to 1/4, typical American diet is 1/10 to 1/25.
Now this can be a problem. Keeping the range where it should be will aid in many healthfull things.

I answered your first part of the question on your other thread.
EPA then DHA.
You need both but more EPA.
DHA for fat loss though and for brain health.

Its ok, I see it all the time but the question was a bit diffrent so I responded to both instead of deleting the other.

Yah, you can go wrong adding those in the diet, EFA's are the only fat that have to be supplemented.
