Re: sweets and chocalate???

I dont think thay are too bad think they just arent good at all.
Im not sure about diabetes at all and only 16myself so not greatly clued
up but would taking something like 60g dextrose with water help spike
the sugar levels again? If so, i think this would be a healthier option but
not 100% sure..

Bump for people with more knowledge!!

Re: sweets and chocalate???

You can buy glucose tablets to prevent you going hypo, you don't need to buy sweets and chocolate that are filled with artificial flavours, colours or preservatives and in the case of chocolate fats too.

The answer here would be to better control your blood sugar in the first place by eating low glycemic food at regular intervals such as every 3 hours. You will know best how much, what and when.

I am assuming all diabetics know what the Glycemic index is of course? If not, do a search for it up there ^^^^^ we have a lot of info here from Hackskii and myself among others.

Hi big ash. type 1 myself and its v easy to reach for the choc aint it? Ive always been advised to take a glucose tablet to raise ya bs and to get u outa danger and then have a snack/meal followed by a jab to bring ya bs back under control.

Just started back on the weights after 5 years an findin the whole diet thing very tricky. u know anyone on this forum who could check over my diet an training??
