I have a terrible diet. Any help please.

I am getting help on a routine from a member on here via PM but looking at my diet it isnt very good.

I am a very fussy eater & my diet is normally as follows.

WEEKDAYS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

BREAKFAST:

1 egg omlet in 2 slices of white bread,
Banana
Vitamin tablet.

LUNCH:

2 white baguttes with ham & cheese in them

DINNER:

Normally some form potato every night.
Either chicken, pork, cod, turkey, gammon, beef or meatballs.
Sometimes i have spagetti with my meal aswell.

SNACKS:

2 or 3 small chocolate bars like mini rolls or penguins.

DRINKS:

At least 2 glasses of milk per day (max 3)
1/2 litre of water with my dinner
At least 2 glasses of pure apple or orange juice per day (max 3)

WEEKENDS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

BREAKFAST:

Either a 3 egg omlet with a slice of bacon & some cheese
or
2 slices of white toast with 1 poached egg & 2-4 slices of bacon
Vitamin tablet

LUNCH:

Either
4 slices of white bread with cheese / turkey / ham in them
or
Something Like spaghetti on toast.

DINNER:

Mash or Roast potatoes with Turkey or chicken

DRINKS:

2 Glasses of milk
2 Glasses of pure apple or orange juice

SNACKS:

A few small chocolate bars
Sometimes 1 pack of crisps

I think this is pretty much my diet.

I dont have any fizzy drinks regulary (max 1 per week when i am out with my mates) & very rarely get things like fish & chips etc from high street shops like all my mates do.

What should I do baring in mind I dont like vegeatbles & fruit (except banana, apple & potato)

I like most meats & white fish. I like grilled tuna steaks but not sure about the tinned stuff as i havent tryed it before.

EDIT!!!

Just read the thread at the bottom of page 1 about tinned steaks from Marks & spencer with up to 80g of protine in each tin depending on what is in it.

Would a few of these a day (maybe inbetween lunch & breakfast) whilst at school & in my baguettes instead of ham & cheese make a good difference to my diet?

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers
james

Ok, from what I see you are eating too many carbohydrates, not enough protein and not enough good fats, too many processed foods and not enough fruits and vegetables.

I will cut down on the chocolate & snacks then & replace them with apples or something.

Is this a good move?

Any ideas what has good fats & protine in?

cheers

You need your protein spread out through the day. Good fats are ones low in saturated fats. Such as fish oils, flax seed, olive oil, canola etc...

Lose the white bread. If you must eat bread make it granary, oat batch or wholemeal.

I know if I ate what you do - I'd stack on the lbs. Not good ones either!

What are your stats and goals?

Re: I have a terrible diet. Any help please.

Your diet is poor. Having said that, you are a young lad and with the help on this board you can easily clean it up and make good gains.

As folk have said; drop the white baguette, and maybe cut the carbs down a little bit. Nevertheless, we don't know what your stats are so by posting them up we can see if dropping the carbs would be effective and/or necessary.

You will need to cut out the chocolate bars etc, this will not help you gain quality mass.

Bump for Pscarb, hacks, DB etc for good diet.

Re: I have a terrible diet. Any help please.

My stats are something like

height 6 foot

weight 63-67kg

age 15

Dont know what else to put in my stats really.

My target is to just build all my muscles really. Not huge but bigger. I think i already have decent leg muscles due to the amount of running & sports i do & my abs arnt to bad either. I want my abs a bit bigger & to bulk up on arms, chest, & back.

Thanks for the comments

At 15 you will develop very well, but be aware that you haven't finished growing yet, and that your epiphyseal plates have not fused in your bones. You should not be doing any heavy weights until you are fully grown, but I am sure whoever you are pming knows that

Cut out the junk food, meals will be a problem I guess as your mum will be the chef. Just try to get healthy snacks. You don't need to be too exact at this stage, just eat plenty of raw fruits and veg mixed with a lean protein source such as chicken and a good fat source such as seeds/nuts/olive oil/ natural peanut butter.

Its early days for you yet, concentrate on getting good eating habits and a healthy diet coupled with reasonable exercise.
