Re: Where do I begin

good book by susan m kleiner, called power eating -get that its not expensive and explains all really well, shes a nutriotional advisor to strength athletes and gives cutting and bulking diets advice. secondly take up walking-up to an hour fast most days, over 100kcals burnt per mile a good fat brning activity you can do all year wherever you live, dont need fancy equipment or clothes, put ipod or similar on and out you go,it really works and nobody give you a second look -unlike if you were jogging with bright red face!, thirdly -alcohol, most women (including mine) drink far too much, alcohol has 7cals per gramme!,protein and carbs 4,fat 9-so as you can see its almost as high as fat in calories, stop the vino, vodka or whatever else for a while, get on a good diet programme and the bf% will reduce slowly but surely-and if keep up the new lifestyle will stay off. i know a girl who teaches aerobics, has won figure contests and featured in muscle and fitness magazine, she is a mother of two who was 14st and kids used to shout fatty etc at her in the street!,so there you go a true success story, be all you canbe good luck

Re: Where do I begin

Thanks for the reply Paulo, just ordered the book off amazon currently reading body for life-bill philips.
Started back at the gym, jog every day for 30mins, then weight train. Given the beer up 3 days ago and counting it's my worst downfall and used to drink Stella:crazy:
Is recovery max drink good for when you've been to the gym or am I better off with food.

Re: Where do I begin

Thanks baby just worked out my lean body mass, and using the TDEE and BMR i should be having 1563 cals a day, prob I reckon moderate deffs for protein/carb/fat
Once it's worked out I'll be fine. Just attempting to work out training schedule for weights and cardio.
Do you think it matters if I jog for 30mins or would walking on incline be better?

Theres mixed feeling on whats better... maybe just do a mix of the two.. I think as long as you're working at 55-60% of max heart rate then you'll be burning fat at the optimum rate.

You're likely to burn more cals whilst running/jogging which I why I do a bit of both when doing cardio!
Check out my thread if you want some diet/training ideas

40/30/30 is a good place to start.

jogging or walking are both fine, HIIT is better (JMO of course)
