help & advice needed

Hi

Your help and advice is needed please.................

I want and need to loose weight, since having my kids, the weight has piled on........ , mainly through bad eating, not eating the right things, picking at food, not getting enough exercise, the usual reasons

I'm slowly loosing it, but just would like some help & advice, my hubs uses this board alot and finds it very helpful, so he suggested i give it a go.

Excercise wise, i'm not good at the gym, i don't like it, i can't motivate myself enough there............ i use to do a lot of bodycombat and bodypump before my girls but that has been pushed aside now as well............. I walk my 2 dogs and enjoy swimming, so i guess that's what i do. Whatever i do has to fit in with my famliy life.

Diet wise:-

breakfast - again not good at this, i have bannana before i take the girls to school, but can't face anything else, if i'm not hungry I can eat,

when i get back i'll have some cereal (skimmed milk) or scrambled eggs on toast

Lunch - jacket spud, with beans or some leftover chilli from the night b4, with salad Or a sandwhich, depedning on how the day is going

Dinner - cooked meal, Chilli, chicken, spag bog, tuna and salad, but i do make my own sauces not jarred stuff so I know what goes in them, i also cut down on the amount of rice or pasta etc that i have with the evening meal.

I've also cut down on my portion size as well.

I will also have 2/3 pieces of fruit aday or some cashew nuts (just plain ones)

Alcohol, i like my wine, so i try and cut this out during the week and save it for the weekend.

I try and drink 2 ltrs or water a day, but don't always manage it.

My main aim is to loose weight and find my weight that i was before my girls......... I would like muscle tone, but i'm not too fussed yet about that. Like i said i am loosing slowly, but i want to do it quicker.

Any help and advice welcomed

Re: help & advice needed

ok where to start.....

i can appreciate how hectic it is for you before the school run my wife does not always get time to eat before the school run so taking this in to account and the fact you need to have evening meal with your family here is my suggestion....

Meal 1 - before school run 1 small banana
Meal 2 - 10.00am
1 scoops protein drink + small amount of nuts
Meal 3 - 12.30pm
Chicken/Tuna salad (plenty of salad) along with 2tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
Meal 4 - 3.00pm probably in the car waiting to pick the girls up
1 scoops protein drink + small amount of nuts
Meal 5 - Tea time
lean protein (homemade chilli/spag bol/grilled chicken) small amount of rice plus lots of green veg.
Meal 6 - approx 7.00pm
handfull of nuts and seeds

this may seem alot so you might have to build up to this amount of meals and the frequency but it will stimulate the metabolism everytime you eat.

i have placed a women on this diet 6 weeks ago and she has lost 27lbs in the 6 weeks now she goes to the gym you do not mention that you train or do cardio??
you can get the protein from Extremenutrition the link is in my sig as a board member you get 25% off all products.

hope it helps

Pscarb

Thanks hun for the advice and ideas, it's more than i'm use to eating, so i guess it will take getting use to, but i'm going to give it a go. It's very simular to what hubs has said, but good to hear it from someone else as well.

Cardio/training wise, not as much as i use to, now i swim 3/4 times a week and walk our dogs daily. I'm not very good at a gym, i find it very hard to get motivated, classes work for me, but haven't found ones i like that fit in with my famliy life and work. My family are my world and come first, but i want to get back to how i was before i had them, fitness and bodywise.

Thanks again, all advise welcomed......................

Had the same feeling, stopped training and eating right for three yrs. because of it but one day thought to myself, " Self " you won't be much good to your family if you can't even take care of yourself, there is no reason you can't be a little selfish with your time and you will be a good role model at the same time...Cheers...

Re: help & advice needed

motivation to get in the gym should be getting back to how you used to be, what sections of the day have you got spare to train ??
