newbie in need of advice

Hi ppl just like to say what a great site this is. I have just started a diet and would like some advice. I started my diet lastweek and have just been told about this site so before i go searching around i would like to list what my diet is at the moment to see if i am doing anything right.
I am 31 years 5ft 5in, 13.5st, just had my 5th child lol
my diet is
breakfast................ toast (wholemeal) x2 with very small amount of jam
dinner............buns x2 (wholemeal) tuna and salad
tea..............pork chop, golden veg rice, salad

snacks throughout the day..........fruit, celery
drinks..........4 cups of tea semi skimmed milk half spoon sugar, water all day and night

at the moment my exercise consists of
divina 30 min workouts 3 times a week
i am also going to start power walking next week
dont get much time to sit down always on the move during the day with having all the kids.

please be nice to me
thanks for any advice given

Re: newbie in need of advice

Hi and welcome Shell. what times of day are you eating your meals? i know having Kids you dont always get to eat YOUR own meals at regular times.
just a thought, do you cook the same meal for you and your kids? only reason i ask, my wife cooks different meals for us and our little boy, and she sometimes ends up eating some of his food, to try encourage ect, does this happen with you and your kids?

Re: newbie in need of advice

these are decent meal times what you need is to have a protein shake with good fats mid morning and afternoon, i did this sort of diet for my sister and she went from dress size 22 to 12 in a year.

you want to think of this as a meal plan not a diet as you need something that you can maintain for the long haul not something you do for 6months then go back to normal eating as this way would have a yo yo effect on your weight.

Re: newbie in need of advice

as pscarb said, a protein drink instead of snacking would be better, my wife has just started taking BSN lean dessert, it is ideal for snack time as it gives you 130 calories with 20g protein per serving. oh and it tastes AMAZING. you say you go with out anything between 12 and sometimes 6, maybe you could fit a lean dessert in around 3ish,
