friend wants to lose a couple of kgs

my friend just got a job as a promo girl. she used to work as a promo girl when she was a lot thinner but has put on 5kgs over the last couple of years. her diet is pretty clean as it is but i was just confirming a few things...

breakfast she usually has oats

snack - not too sure here.. ill ask.
(my suggestion here would be a serving of low fat yogurt or something similar)

lunch - tuna & salad

snack - again - not sure...
(my suggestion would be some nuts and a piece of fruit)

dinner - meat & vegies

currently takes no supplements, and as for EFA's i don't think she has many either..

rip away guys.

Re: friend wants to lose a couple of kgs

constructive responses so far it seems

anyhow

more importantly

1 - what is she doing now in terms of intake? (is that her diet above, or what you have drawn up?) rough calorie intake would also help
2 - what training is she doing? (weights and cardio)
3- what is her mindset towards food like currently?

i was hoping someone would reply with relevance to the diet at some stage..

1- that is basically what she has at the moment.. wouldn't say it's too solid but it is the general gist of it.. every time i take her out to lunch however, she seems to just order a "salad" so i have feared an eating disorder in the future.. as mentioned i am not too sure of the snacks but im pretty sure thats the kind of food she sticks to.

2- training wise, she is currently doing about 45mins of cardio most days and 20-30 mins weights.. i have tried to get her to come and do weights with me as the person she trains with is somewhat... stupid? (she is supposed to be a PT but thinks carbs and protein is a type of fat... yes you heard me correctly).. moving on.. her weights seem to be the slack part but she seems to go alright with cardio by the sounds of things.. i would like to go in and train with her to get a thorough idea of what she does.. thats all ive got at the moment..

3- mindset wise she isn't too bad. she will do what i tell her to - and actually do it unlike a lot of females (no jokes here guys.. im TRYING to be serious for once).. she is VERY self conscious though.. and because of that i am worried about a possible eating disorder in the future.. however she is smarter than that..

Re: friend wants to lose a couple of kgs

speaking to her now on the net.. will get back to you with better info..

currently does about 20 mins on the treadmill (jogging) and 10 mins on the bike.. level 5, 10 mins, RPM between about 80-90..

told her to keep up the jogging on the treadmill, hill instead of flat for 20 mins.. 10 mins on bike level 5.. intervals 3mins off / 1 min on... 80-90 off, 110-120 on..

may I suggest Birmingham oats?

They are the best and are packed full of vitamins, protein and the right amount of carbs!

Re: friend wants to lose a couple of kgs

Newwoman, I suspect you are a muscle worshipper just after some cheap and rude pics of me flexing in the nude. I think this undermines what bodybuilding is all about and is a slur to the bodybuilding community. I am not happy.

However, for the purpose of your research I am well hung, clean shaven and willing to attend, only for research purposes of course.
