I too am no expert but maybe replace the fruit for nuts(as salmon aside,Efa's look low).low fat milk replace with no fat,ie skimmed. Otherwise seems good to me but now she has to stick to it! |

| UK-M's Token Aussie | Re: have a client asking for a diet.. yeh cheers para.. i realise the efa's were low and was thinking of where to throw in the nuts but i wasnt sure how much to get her to eat.. small handful of nuts enough for an inbetween snack? thought she would need a little something more substantial.. but as i said.. my knowledge on the area is limited.. ill chuck the nuts in the 2nd snack instead of the fruit..

How about adding some flax seeds to the salad or an oil mix dressing like olive and walnut oil, lemon and vinegar dressing. Their are plenty of oily fish not just salmon worth remembering as non-bodybuilders tend to like variety in their food. Of course she should be supplementing with fish oil omega 3 caps anyway as she is dieting. The calories of this diet also look very low if you start so low how are you going to reduce it when the weight lose plateau's? |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: have a client asking for a diet.. Have you considered whether she is going through the menerpause (I know i cant spell). some women do at that age. Veges only once a day? Women need more iron than you men as we loose alot during our menstral cycle....may need to increase the amount of veges she eats. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: have a client asking for a diet.. why are you abstaining from carbs? unless she has a whacking protein turnover the diet is too protein heavy of course if she has a whacking protein turnover she is weight training if she is weight training then she needs carbs either up carbs or cycle them protien only diets are not required for this type of client you should not IMO instruct her on diet unless you are either qualified or well versed, provide literature, the hassle of recreational trainers is not worth the risk on giving bad advice |

| UK-M's Token Aussie | Re: have a client asking for a diet.. i agree.. i never give out diet info as im not qualified and don't know enough... hence the reason im on here asking you guys as this client is requesting some help. so at least a guide may prove beneficial. i sent he the diet in a very loose format - "some healthy breakfast choices may be... etc etc" and yes she is going through menopause as well.. with her current eating habits, any advice is good advice so i told her i cannot supply her with a full diet as such however i can write down some healthier meal choices. and thats what i did.. if she wants a fully fledged diet then i suggested she see a dietitian and mentioned she does weight training 3x/week.

![]() ![]() | Re: have a client asking for a diet.. Is she very over weight? whats her BMI? there are loads of things that need to be taken into consideration so it is probably best to point her in the dierection of someone qualified. She may have bad eating habits and too much of a change too suddenly may put her off completley!
