yes Peg she did,
in the end she had lost so much in that short space of time that she decided to have plastic surgery to get rid of the skin.
i did warn her about losing this amount of weight though in this small time frame....

but she is very very happy with her weight loss and continues to try and improve...

Sorry to jump in here... can I also ask if she exercised much during her diet?
I am terrified I will end up with lose skin, even though I am exercising and dieting more slowly. Its just a tummy tuck op leaves such a huge scar

If you lose the weight slowly the skin has time to adapt through exercise and through building up the lean muscle mass. If the loss is very fast, there is alot of excess skin. This has been my experience as well as the experience of others I know. It will depend on how much excess skin you have also.

yes she did exercise with both weights and cardio...

my sister was a size 22 and went down to a size 12 in 18months she didn't starve herself in fact she ate more....but she is 39rs old and has had 3 boys all by scicerian(sp) section so excess skin was inevatible and unavoidable as your skin only has so much elasticity....

i will find out how much the op was...

That sounds like me.. but I did it in 3 years. I figure if it took me 16 years to put it on then I could take it off in 3. I was not really on any strict diet or training other than MA for cardio and fitness. I had a section for my middle child. I don't have too much trouble with excess skin... maybe a bit of excess flab since last year was a bad year for me physically to train. I gained some of it back, but hopefully it will be off by July or at least a good portion of it.

If not, I will be searching for this thread and the cost and more information about the operation.
