| best time to take creatine I don't seem to get on with Creatine (Mono), it makes me feel crappy, headaches, slightly dizzy and ultimately i get sick, no matter how much i drink during the day.
BUT I've been taking it in the morning, it dawned on me today (yes slow) that, maybe, taking it right after 6 / 8 hours of not drinking any fluids probably isn't the greatest plan in the world.
Is there an optimal time to take Creatine, and avoid some of the side effects?
TIA
J

sounds good? | 4 heaped spoonfuls?? That's what 20g? Unless you're loading your creatine for the first time in a while (it takes a month to get out of your system completely) I wouldn't bother, just 5g a day is enough (1 teaspoon).
Here's two loading protocols:
5g a day for a month (take it pre or post workout, on off days just in the morning)
or
20-25g a day for 4-5 days (loading phase) then 5g a day thereafter (maintenance)
Hope this helps mate |

| Re: best time to take creatine I hav always made decent progress on a 4 scoops as a loading phase then a 2 scoop maintenance.
I add glutamine to it pre and post workout.
the only problems I had was when I started taking it. I was mixing it with warm fruit juice and I had acute kidney pain and my wee was bright green...bit of a wake up first thing in the morning...lol I just take it with warm water now and no problems at all.
I take Creatine Monohydrate and have never had headaches etc. |
