750g of mono is about £25 from Extreme, one of the board sponsors; 5g of that a day and it will last you for 250 days. And Extreme gives discounts.

Re: Purple K

Creatine needs a simple sugar? (someone clarify this for me?) 500g from memory.

Just buy it from one of the bulk people such as www.myprotein.co.uk as brand makes no difference - its just a reason to charge you more!

Creatine doesn't work for everyone though, and if you eat plenty of steak, you won't need it at all ;)

I thought it was 75g of dextrose.
Myself, I put one level teaspoon in my OJ in the morning, and have a second in my shake post workout.

Re: Purple K

bcfclee27 - do a search for creatine and you will find lots of useful info...

Personally I think it does nothing for me except make me feel a bit sick for 30mins/1hour

Anyway, its well past my bedtime! Night chaps...

500g thats 1/2kg sugar! you only need ~100g. taking 100g sugar is not healthy however, so best way imo to replace half of it with protein: 50gprotein/50g simple carb after workout, this will get you the same insulin spike as 100g sugar.

#1 rule is you need to drink plenty of water (100ml/1mg) with it.
Also, according to some researches taking creatine BEFORE or DURING workout is a bad idea, they say it will cause loss of performance /!/ and in some cases fainting. The causes are not yet known.

500g is waaaaaaaay excessive lol...

There's no hard and fast rule as to how much people need (would depend on current BG levels and insulin sensitivity.

I take mine PWO with carbs and protein. Most people don't realise that protein also releases insulin - it's just not a biphasic release like simple carbs. So mix the two together and hey presto - perfect PWO shake if you throw in some BCAA's to

Re: Purple K

Robbie, where your monohydrate comes from DOES make a difference due to how well its been purified to seperate it from heavy minerals and also the "mesh" of the product which determines the size of the granules. The size is important because it will effect ease of absorption.

Also if you use the UKM25 discount available to board members Extreme supply 750g for £15.
