creatine

Hello all - new member here !

Can anyone advise me on when to start taking creatine (If creatine is the best thing)

I am just completing a weight lose programme and am nearly ready to start building muscle.

Is creatine the best thing ? if so whats the beast make, manufacturer and supplier ?

Many Thanks

Re: creatine

Hi Parrot,

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm looking to re-start a heavy weights regime for around about a 3 month period, in which I buy some supplements to aid my strength and power workouts. As I'm pretty much skint all year round, I tend to only buy supplements twice a year... once just after xmas, and once in the summer.

Last summer I bought:
Reflex Tri-Matrix Evolution
Norateen Heavyweight II
Reflex Instant Whey
ZMA

As I train early mornings (too early!!!), I liked the Tri-Matrix cos, as well as creatine, BCAA, and other good ingredients, it has taurine and caffine, which woke me up

The Norateen Heavyweight II is a testosterone booster, and also boosts your HGH levels. It's a little on the expensive side, but I found that I put on some good mass with this (3 seperate times).

As I bought the Reflex Tr-Matrix, I thought I'd sample the protein too, save on postage as well when buying from the same manufacturer Personally, I have 3-4 drinks thoughout the day. But this time, I'm going to get both "quick-release" and "slow-release" protein. Quick-release after a session in the morning and after rugby training in the evening (only twice a week), then slow release mid morning, mid afternoon, and before bed. So I'll then be having 5 drinks on a rugby training day. I've read quite a few reports, but I am lead to believe that you should be having 1.5 times you body weight (kg) of protein (g)... i.e. if you weigh 90kg, your should intake 135g of protein? With there being about 20g in each drink, that should sort you out with between 80-100g a day, then the protein in your normal diet should get you upto, if not beyond the 135g mark. Obviously, this is my personal diet plan, and I know alot of other atheletes, especially the pro rugby players would be getting much more protein into their body.

I too would like to know if anyone could recommend some more supplements that they have used and liked the results of. I've had some advise for trying Cell-Tech or EAS Phosphogen.

Cheers,

HUTCH.

try myprotein or bulk powders, creatine is cheap stuff... if you wanna add muscle its good to try either the mono or CEE (this taste bad) but both highly effective... start off with 3g pre and post workout for 3 weeks and have a week off!

Re: creatine

totally agree with shorty, creatine only helps with endurance and stops lactic acid forming, you'll not get massive with it, the only way to get big is to eat train and rest

Re: creatine

OK, maybe the creatine won't make you big, but surely it helps otherwise there wouldn't be such a large market for it? My mate did a university dissertation on it, I'll have to get him to write some good/bad points about.

As for the Heavyweight II... £50 for that stuff must have better affects than £50 worth of meat/protein?!?! Testosterone helps the body grow bigger yeah? Is there something similar out there (legal)?

Then, ZMA... I've read that there was a study in America on American Football players... 10 took ZMA before bed, 10 didn't. They did the same workout and same diet over a period of time. The 10 that took the ZMA showed better improvements (strength and size) than the ones who didn't take the stuf. It keeps the body's anabolic state high during sleep, therefore, allowing the body to grow at night.

I'm probably talking rubbish here, but this is what I read... maybe I read too much

Sure, its good stuff.

What shorty meant was - dont be like the other 90% of new gym goers and think its magic powder and you'll suddenly start growing muscles you never knew you had.

Re: creatine

I think creatine gives more strength than muscle gains. Its good I dropped the fancy stuff for just plain old mono and malto

Correct. The increased strength then allows for more of an over-load on the muscles.

Also, mono's the way forward IMO. You can't re-invent the wheel, I've tried CEE, didnt do much different, and mono's cheaper.

Re: creatine

Yeah I agree, I might not of before but I do do now. I have tried em all and mono is the only one that works and is worth the cost.

Re: creatine

Would you not go for a testosterone booster at all, or just not the LA Muscle one?

I thought that by getting Testo Booster, Creatine (with BCAA), and Protein... as well as a healthy diet... I'd have a blend of eveything??? I know there's no substitute for a good, healthy, protein and carbs diet and hard work in the gym, but obviously this mix of supps are helping?
