Creatine confusion

Hello folks. Now trust me, I have Googled but am still a bit confused.

What I essentially need to know is, whether it's OK to add creatine (mono) to a protein shake. I have one of these every day, so thought I may aswell chuck it in there as it has plenty of sugar in it (nlarge) which is needed to help uptake.

It's just that I've read in some places that it has to be taken with a pint or so of fluid, is best on an empty stomach, etc etc.

Any pointers gratefully recieved.

Re: Creatine confusion

I donno.. never like shakes mixed with creatine.

But off the top of my head most have a loading phase, not required but speeds things up. I would assume taken between meals with a grape juice or drink simliar in carbs would be ideal to take creatine for maximum uptake?

Re: Creatine confusion

hello ba...you are fine to take it with the Nlarge, the nlarge has sugars in maltodextrin which will help with the absorption.
Mixing it seperatly with Glucose would probably be a better option, but you should still see results off it, mix it into your pwo shake

Re: Creatine confusion

Thanks guys.

I will attempt to mix it with water and glucose too and see how that goes.

The consensus on when to take regarding a workout is a bit confusing too, so I'm thinking of a level teaspoon beforehand and the same afterwards - best of both worlds

Don't confuse me even more with the loading debate! I'm going with what myprotein suggest (no loading) as that's where I got it.

No loading is required, this was told by some companies who wanted customers to use more CM by "loading". Just take 5g ED...
