Re: Creatine: CEE vs MONO which is better

At the one in University park near Beeston. It's big and flashy, but the weights room is woefully too small, which is why I'm forced to train early in the morning to get near any equipment. I used to go to a gym in Salford when I lived in Manchester which was the reverse - they converted squash courts to extra weights rooms and so there was always space even at peak times. It was more ugly and dirty but it had a better vibe!

I'm still in touch occasionally with Paul Greenhaff at Nottingham Uni still, this guy is pretty much the world leader in Creatine research, as you'll see if you do any journal searches on the stuff. Just out of interest and fair play to the guy, he replies to me emails!!!
Now I use CEE from CNP, I respond best to it, hold very little water and don't get any digestive discomfort.
But its something I treat with care, I've had the raised creatinine levels (not so much a liver measure, its a kidney indicator but shows in Liver Function Tests), but cycling it and drinking plenty of water definitely helps and gets better results.

Creatine combined with glutamine is comparable to some short weak courses IMO. With less water retention and less likelihood to lose the whole lot at the end of it.
Definitely interested in people's expereinces of CEE vs Mono.

Small World.... I know Paul and was part of his 1994 studies where he used 94g of glucose (bottle of lucozade) as a insulin mediated transport mechanism with every 5g of Creatine. I also completed my under graduate papers on creatine + glucose. I was attempting to prove that EAS who added only 25g of glucose per 5g was piggy backing on this research and 25g was simply not enough to mediate an insuline response.

Re: Creatine: CEE vs MONO which is better

I always have a good monohyrate. Heard loads of people rave about CEE but I've had good enough results from the original. I stick to either Reflex or CNP, buy british :p

Will probably give the e2s a bash when I've got some spare pennies.

So is cee less harsh on the ol guts? i dont think ive ever used it, but regular mono makes my guts ache like hell, specially after ive had intestinal surgery.

CEE: Creatine Ethyl Ester
Mono: Creatine Monohydrate

Both forms of Creatine, small amounts are created by our liver, but also found in red meats. Creatine is a energy source of muscles but there is only usually enough for under 10 seconds of use, where you then get tired. Using it as a supplement increases that time, and helps your body with endurance, strength (by helping amino acids somehow), mass gains, and according to a Creatine brand 'Creapure', helps with mental ability.

CEE has an added Ethyl Ester which is meant to assist in absorption by muscle and best digest.

Creatine Monohydrate is basically the original Creatine, and has had countless research which all prove its effectiveness, however CEE does not.

CEE has also been shown to partially break down into other forms which have a negative affect such as Creatinine.

IMO one should try mono first, see how they get along, and then only try CEE.

Re: Creatine: CEE vs MONO which is better

Mono caps before and after work out always has done the job for me, currently on licquid though, can't remember the last time I worked out without creatine!

Tryed CEE and wasn't impressed, seemed to reek of petrol too!!!

cee is a better bet no loading and its cheap that and it does not bloat you like mono and it also doesn't make you retain water
