![]() | Re: staffordshire bull terrier HI I have a 15 month old Boxer cross American Bulldog. I didn't know his breed when I got him from the pound, all I knew was that he would be put down as he was being sick etc.. I thought I'd try rescue him...got him to a vet etc.... anyway to cut a long story short, people see my dog walking on the lead down the street and quite literally jump into random paths and gardens as he now looks liek a right beast!! Truth is he is scared of his own shadow, scared and runs away from small dogs .... a right sissy! I believe all dogs should be given a chance regardless of breed.. it is how you bring them up and treat and discipline which makes all the differance. I think all thee 16 year old hoodies with Staffs and Bull terriers is going to be a disaster. They'll go out of fashion by next year then we'll have a national homeless dog epidemic!!! |

![]() | Re: staffordshire bull terrier Nice dogs, how often do use walk them? Really want a Boxer but work full-time and hear they are a handful, especially for a first time dog owner, plus my girlfriend is allergic to cats and dogs, although it has got better, shes lived with a cat all her life and a dog when she lived with her cousin without problems as long as she washes her hands after touching, but don't think it's fair to bring a dog into the house! |

![]() | Re: staffordshire bull terrier I walk him 2/3 times a day for at least half an hour each time, on top of that I let him off for about 45 minutes every day at park to run around with other dogs just to run his energy off. Any less then he is hyper! He needs plenty of exercise. If you haven't got time to exercise them than I would stick to a small breed that maybe only needs one walk a day. Boxers can be very temperamental is they are not exercised, as with all dogs esp larger breeds. Shame about girlf allergies, dogs are fab company!! |

![]() | Re: staffordshire bull terrier Yeah, well like I say, she lived with her cousin in a small flat, her cousin had a Staffy and it wasn't too bad, got a lot better since she was a kid. Thye had to give the Staff away cos it wasn't being looked after properly by her cousin, not enough walks etc. She tries to convince Me she'll be O.K, but if it was bad, then I know I could never give my dog away! It's not the walking, could walk it twice a day, even three, it's the fact we both work pretty much 9-5, so it'd be on its own for 8-9 hrs. |

Wonder what we humans wouldlook like if natural selection was still a factor.
