Eating too much

Hi, I think I'm spending too much time eating! It takes up a huge amount of time preparing meals, I eat oats and/or other carbs before I workout, but I'm thinking maybe I should switch to supplements to cut down on the time it takes to prepare and eat a meal.
So my I guess my question is: Can I use dextrose as a Carb replacement?
Obviously I'm still going to eat, just try and cut down a bit. - And going by some of the links on this board it works out to be cheaper too!!

Also, sometimes I cant decide if I'm hungry or not, or I think I'm hungry again shortly after eating. I have always had a fast metabolism but now it seems to have gone completely mental. Or perhaps my raging hunger is normal when working out everyday (cept weekends)?

Can anyone help here?

Thanks

Re: Eating too much

Are you mistaking dehydration for hunger? Its a common mistake and upping your water levels could help the hunger pangs

Re: Eating too much

No you can not use dextrose as a carb source, it's simmilar to sugar.

Are you gaining weight and is it lean weight?

Re: Eating too much

I suggest posting your normal daily diet.
I suspect your food choices, especially carbs and fats, could be improved.

It actually takes less time to prep 6-8 'bodybuilding meals' than it does to make 3 square meals that the joe public love to eat

anyhow, as above, cant live on dextrose, your blood sugar levels will be all over the place

look to oat powder for something to add to drinks and make batches of food in the morning to consume through the day

Re: Eating too much

Okay thanks for the support here:
I may not be consuming enough water actually - I drink a lot of tea, I heard tea can dehydrate.
I didn’t know thirst or lack of fluids can cause hunger symptoms so I'll keep a watchful eye on that.
I do have to keep reminding myself to drink water.

My diet normally consist of

2x Jackets potatoes
1/2 Tin beans
2 Eggs Scrambled
X2
Some days X3

300g cottage cheese
X1

Brown Rice, Veg and Chicken breast fillet
X2

Tuna in brine (yuk)
X2
Some days X3

Big bowl of porridge oats
X2
Some days X3

Banana
X2

I don’t have hardly any fat especially for my age (late 30’xs)

Looking at it written down perhaps it’s not that much..
I weigh 12 stone 4 pounds
at the start of the year I was just under 12 stone I didn’t hardly train at all 2007, so I lost weight.
2006 I was bigger but lifting less than I am now.
(due to creatine loading I assume)

Any help or suggestions with diet etc, greatly appreciated.

Re: Eating too much

Any Suggestion on protein?
Do I need more fat?
Not bothered about it being being dull at all, means I enjoy eating out all the more when I do.
I supose you could chuck in the odd steak and KFC just to jazz it up..lol.

thanks.

Re: Eating too much

I don’t suppose anybody would be kind enough to show me their successful diets would they, so I perhaps can adapt mine?
