They sell pro mass at my gym and I've yet to meet anyone that rates it who's tried it...... pro peptide seems to have more backing from those I've spoke to. I don't think you need to include processed carbs in MRP's. It's been put in there as a cheap filler as far as I can tell. I don't see anyone adding high GI carbs to their solid meals so why to a MRP. The arguement that usaualy gets touted is a gradual flow of carbs but why not do the same with solid meals? I definatly would discuss this with CNP or met rx if I used their over priced products . Oats makes most sense to me but mixability and texture issues lean towards palatinose or even better activated barley. Both cost alot more than malto so guess what you get in your weight gainer?

![]() ![]() | Re: Maltodextrin I agree. However, I think Studbeast was saying that Low GI foods PWO were equal to Dextrose or Malto. I agree that there is little difference between Dex and Malto. I figure if the Malto is complex, then might as well benefit from that to the extent possible. However, I do agree that there is indistinguishable difference. I do think Malto is slightly less sweet than Dext. I hate things too sweet. |

I often go by slow carb meals through the day and after a workout get the carb and the protein shuttled into the muscle asap. So for a post meal straight after working out a whey ,maybe maltodextrin carbs and some EFAs. With carbs I taper them off throughout the day. ok so maltodextrin lives in the fast GI domain then? So what is the slowest GI carb - from porridge etc? Anyone have a GI food chart?

Fair enough if you said they preferred (for example) BSN's true-mass over CNP's pro-mass.....but comparing a mixed blend of proteins - with minimal carbs to a 'mass gain' drink that obviously has added carbs makes no sense at all to me?

I was'nt comparing them just replying to TT saying that pro mass is popular by saying CNP products are sold down my gym: pro mass = not popular pro peptide = popular (with those who have tried both or either down the gym I go to). Hope this clarifys. Da goon if you want a powdered low GI carb source, oat powder is the cheapest but activated barley is an option if you are loaded.
