Real Men Eat Tatyana's Low Carb Stew

I LOVE my veg, and so many of them are so low carb, there is NO EXCUSE not to eat them IMHO.

200g Onions (about 2 onions)
200 g celery (4 sticks)
10g garlic (2 bits) ( 2 cloves)
200 g carrots (6 small)
200 g brocolli (1 head)
440 g cauliflower (I head)
400 g tomato (1 tin)
1 low salt stock cube

Sautee onions, celery and garlic in about 2 cups of water with the stock cube.
Add in the carrots, brocolli and cauliflower, cook till tender
Add the tomatoes, flavour with oregano, thyme, basil or mixed herbs/mixed italian herbs

Makes about 6 250 g servings which are:

67.4 kcals
5.3 g protein
8.5 g carbs
1.7 g fat

Bigger lads may only get about 3 servings out of this.

Chuck in the amount of chicken or turkey you want, and add olive or udo's for more kcals and Bob's your uncle!

Ok, a few questions, what are:

Sautee?
Stock Cubes?
Udo's?

and if adding meat, do we need to pre-cook the meat?

Bear in mind most of us boys only extend to a Foreman grilling of foods, so forgive me if the questions seem a tad amateurish!!

No question is a bad question

Sautee: it is a cooking of the vegetables to release their flavors and soften them before adding them in with other ingredients.

Chicken or Beef Boullion cubes - You can purchase them at the store.
Tescos stock cubes
Stock = liquid formed from cooking ingredients. Meat stock will have some fat in it. It adds flavor.

Udo's Oil - blend of oils for Omega 3s and 6s
Udo's Oil

About adding the meat:

Usually you list the ingredients according to their order of use in a recipe. Then the directions will tell you how to prepare the ingredients.
I would add precooked meat to this stew. I usually cook the meat with the spices to get the flavor of the spices mixed with the meat before adding in the remaining ingredients to the dish.

1 chopped onion
3 cloves garlic
1/4 c water
1 lb minced meat
1 15oz can of tomato sauce

Sautee onion and garlic in 1/4 c water. Brown mince (cook till there is no more pink)
Drain fat from mince.
Add tomato sauce, etc...
