apple oatbran muffins

This is great to add some fiber into your diet and to satisfy the sweet tooth also.
Keeps the body regular and is preventive medicine for any constipation you may suffer in your bodybuilding.

Muffins in USA are a bit different I think than muffins in UK.

Apple Oatbran Muffins

2 C applesauce
2 C oatbran
1/2 C wheat germ
1/2 C bran flakes
2 egg whites ( you can use whole eggs if you wish, I prefer the whole eggs)
1 T. baking powder
1/2 C sugar (I use honey for sugar and cut it back to 1/4 C and add 3 very ripe bananas.)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 C raisins (optional) I also add 1/2 cup mixture of walnuts and pecans.

Mix above well and spoon into paper muffin
cups placed into muffin tin. Cook at 425 F
for 17 min. Makes 12 muffins.

I am sure this tastes great but can anyone in the UK find unsweetened Applesauce??? Would pureeing an apple in a blender do?

Re: apple oatbran muffins

Yes, you can puree apples for the applesauce.
That's a great idea. Fresh apples are more nutritious. Make sure you remove the seeds. Keep the apple peel on and puree that as well.

Re: apple oatbran muffins

Do you have Smuckers in the UK? I get applesauce that has no sugar added.
It is just the apples. Look for Old fashioned natural on the label.

Oatbran...
You guys need a woman in your life to shop for you.

Go to cereal section in the store for oatbran.

It is a cereal not a baking flour.

Si vous achetez online, allez ą grocery/cereal/type dans l'oatbran dans la recherche et le voilą de produit.

Go to the cereal section of grocery isle online. Type in oatbran and there it is.

I love you guys

Re: apple oatbran muffins

Yup, a cereal.
The healthy no sugar kind.
asda/cereal/adult cereal/ bran flakes

If they are like our bran flakes here, it is just bran with no sugars added.
