rather poor day

Posted 30-06-2008 at 05:37 PM by MrGum
My scales are lying to me. Last week I was 12st 3lbs. Today it said 11st 13lbs. (I always weigh first thing on Monday morning). It's messing with my head. I am trying to stay focused on a sort of "lean bulking" thing but I feel like a right fat bastard. I cannot have lost weight this week!! I keep telling myself that more muscle will burn more calories, and that I can get rid of the spare tyre later, but I am weakening.

Didn't feel very energetic today. Woke up at 4am and had some protein and a 'nana then went back to bed. Up at six to walk the dog (what he doesn't realise is that this is my am cardio). Absolutely starving when I got home, despite "midnight" snack.

I am a bit worried about my dog (there's a picture of him in my album, go to my profile if you want to see him as a puppy), he seems to be having some trouble with his hips - booked him into the vets for X-ray on Thursday.

Went to the gym, but it was a fairly average session. In particular my Deadlifts were **** because of grip. I have been trying not to use straps and last week that was okay, but today I really struggled to hang on to the bar. I may have to deload and creep back up to that poundage.

I also found myself gettin rather ****ed off by a bloke crashing dumbbells around and doing rather stupid exercises. Just having a it of a bad day.

Anyway, tomorrow I will go for a run, so that will cheer me up.

I have been paying a bit more attention to my diet - eating avocados, olives and taking flax and hemp oil. Good fats all round. Also going to take more protein in - about 5 scoops a day instead of the 3 or 4 I have been having.

I just need to be consistent and patient!!
