Arms? hands? Same thing

Tonight I had a non bodybuilding related accident, quite silly really.

Just passed my right hand up my body and whacked it on the underside of my left elbow. My hand was really sore i could barely move my fingers for about 2 mins, then it died down but can feel a slight tension in there. I can grip and put pressure on the palm without disturbing the pain but if i press a particular point on the middle of the top of my hand now the whole pain comes back again and 'freezes' my hand.

Im so annoyed because my elbow didn't even hit it that hard and it is literally one small point on my hand that does it, anywhere else doesn't hurt

any ideas what i've done?

?? Were you trying to punch yourself in the armpit?

Either way, sounds like you have just given one of the nerves in your hand that serve the extensor muscles a bit of a knock. It'll be a little bruised but should be ok soon. Try a little ice to reduce the swelling. It only takes a tiny bit of bruising or swelling to put a slight compression on a nerve (especially in an area so close to the surface) & the tingling, pain & dysfunction will occur. It's unlikely you have done any lasting damage. Of course, if your fingers shrivel up & drop off, I'd be inclined to seek help.
