Re: Both elbows, sore and tender.

Daps,as others have said, get on top of the problem before it becomes worse.

Rest,ice/heat treatment and anti inflammatories(either gel to the site or orally).See a physio for proper diagnosis(do not train in mean time)

It needn't be too much of a problem.Follow the advice given and you will be back before long, keep chin up and use this as an excuse to train your legs!

Re: Both elbows, sore and tender.

sounds like you haven't been deadlifting properly then, thats for sure. Honestly Daps, you've not done any lifting for so long that you will ache for a while in a lot of places, joints, esp arms will hurt because they take a lot of stick, it will pass, now stop moaning and get your **** back down there.

Re: Both elbows, sore and tender.

Well, that's exactly what i have done. Going in on tuesday to give my arms a break, do cardio on the tuesday, see how my elbows go from there.

Going to eat healthily 3/4 meals a day to get my fat down on my body whilst doing the cardio and then i'll be ready to hit the weights again.

It's a real gutting feeling having to stop straight away, but it doesn't mean i have to stop EVERYTHING, like I would of done before. I'd like to thank people on here for making me realise that. As long as i am in this mindset i will keep improving, but for now it has to be just the cardio aspect, which i can deal with.

Re: Both elbows, sore and tender.

Hey bud,

You will be far better off giving yourself a break and not aggrivating this problem. When you start off lifting again, its probably not the smartest thing in the world to throw 160 kilos on the bar and start bench pressing. Allow you tendons to get use to the load and build up to lifting heavy.

I am guessing you are a lot younger and your body will heal much quicker than someone like me, but like I said earlier, don't push it and end up having surgery. It is a very slow recovery and you do not realize how much you use your elbows.

Re: Both elbows, sore and tender.

Sorry, I would say that a two week break where you focus on cardio would allow your elbows to sort themselves out.

Re: Both elbows, sore and tender.

Thanks for that. I will definatly leave it a couple of weeks and do cardio, maybe some leg work if my arms allow me to hold a squat bar lol.

Maybe this injury will make me get my body in even better condition to start off, every cloud has a silver lining i suppose.
