The reason hammer curls will not cause this pain is because your wrists are in a position where they cannot flex outwards.
Wow, impressive mate! ;)

Yeh what Stu said. Had the same problem, only it was when doing forearm raises. My best advise? If it hurts, stop doing it. Your bi's get worked enough as it is, no real need to isolate them.

I have a similar injury that comes and goes but it's nearer to the wrist than elbow although it's still mid-ish forearm. It hurts as I'm curling, and just after I let go. I find it goes after a couple of weeks doing hammers instead of curling. I was curling heavy last week and it didn't come back so hopefully it's gone for a while...Definitely do a different excercise that doesn't hurt as bad and it will go in a couple of weeks or so. Hammers is worth a try mate

Session28 is on a distinguished road
I've been dealing with this pain for a while now. I found out that it's a pinched nerve and a bit of carpel tunnel in the forearms. It hurts right in the middle of my forearm at the bone. The reason for this is at the top of your curl, when you're squeezing the bicep, your wrists are curled in instead of being straight. This causes the nerves that run along the forearm to be pinched and cause pain, especially after you've been gripping the weights and then let go. You can use lifting straps to help support the wrist and keep it straight, or you can try to keep then straight on your own. This pain has nothing to do with the amount of weight or type of bar you use, whether it be straight bar or EZ bar. When I found this out I started keeping my wrists straight and I'm going to go out and get straps to help me. The pain had gone away greatly but still lingers a bit because I find it hard to keep my wrists straight. I hope this helps you guys out.

Mine definitely hurts on the bone, I was thinking it was something like shin splints but of the arm. But if it's the bending of the wrist that's the problem then it figures! No more wrist bending for me...lol that includes bashing one out as well

Trained Bi's today, only curling 24 kg each arm, and pain came back, didn't hurt on isolation curls or hammers, but when I tried curling just 40 kg (20 each side) on E-Z it hurt like hell, especially when letting go. Easy solution, cut out E-Z till better.

My forearms hurt like hell when I do straight bar curls - but nothing makes my arms grow more than these - so I just put up with pain.

The forearm pain is still there, not as intense, I can curl 30 kg each arm now without too much pain. But I really thought it would have gone by now ffs. It's starting to get really annoying to be honest.

Cheers mate.. I can go more, but I start to swing when I do, so I count 30 kg as my limit at the moment as I train strict and tight, I . I see people in the gym doing 20 kg because they see others doing it and practically take a run to swing it up, does make me chuckle to myself.....bless 'em.
They see you lifting heavy and ask your advice, you give it to them and tell them to get the form right first and the weight will follow, but you see them looking at other people out the corner of their eyes and worrying more what other people think of them than getting it right.
Needless to say, I don't bother anymore and let them get on with it....unless they're petite members of the opposite sex of course....lol
