Re: EAA or BCAA...?

ON bcaa's mix easily. I add mine to sugar free orange squash and drink throughout my workout. Doesnt taste bad either.

Re: EAA or BCAA...?

Personally I find Ice by Xtreme Formulations the most palatable along with Purple Wraath. Straigh BCAA powders can be nasty though!

Re: EAA or BCAA...?

I make mine up the night before. Use warm water to mix the BCAA's down to a non lumpy liquid, then add a scoop of MP's Berry Blast flavouring. Im hoping the heat doesn't kill the BCAA's. Im guessing it doesnt because i use 10g pre/peri/post workout whilst cutting and dont seem to lose any muscle, which is always good.

Re: EAA or BCAA...?

You may find EAA's better to mix than BCAA's as Leucine tends to be the Amino that doesn't mix in so well.

Re: EAA or BCAA...?

Yeah it's the nasty dust like powder that is leucine that makes BCAAs hard to mix!

If forced to choose either BCAAs or EAAs I would go for EAAs. As pointed out earlier in the thread, EAAs are useful as an addition to protein poor meals or meals lacking the full range of essential amnio acids. This is a good thing to do as protein feeds without the full spectrum of EAAs are more likely to be used for gluconoegenesis and converted to energy, whereas full range EAA proteins are more likely to be used for anabolic processes.

EAAs can also be used in small doses, 5-6g, between meals to create mini surges in plasma EAA levels. This is something demonstrated to stimulate protein synthesis.

A second reason to make EAAs a better choice is that EAAs contain all the BCAAs anyway - in fact they are the main constituent! It varies slightly between different suppliers but generally every 10g of EAAs will contain roughly 3g of leucine, 1.5g of Valine and 0.5g of isoleucine anyway.

Ideally though I'd take both around training - 5-10g of each drunk before and through the session and another 5-10g afterwards.
