![]() | Training Routine Can somebody please give me some advice. I've been training for 5 years but only properly for about 6 months, Lifting heavy and eating 6 meals per day etc.. The thing that REALLY confuses me is that especially in Flex Mag (Ernie Taylor) who is totally awesome is always advising that you should train only 1 body part per week. I actually do the following routine but i am now starting to get a bit paranoid : Monday - Chest and Bi's Tues - Back and Shoulders Weds - Legs and Tri's Thus - Repeat Monday's workout Fri - Repeat Tues workout Sat - Repeat Weds workout Sun - Off. The thing is I feel that if I only train say Chest and Bi's on Monday and then don't train those 2 body parts until the following Monday, I really feel that i am cheating myself and i don't get any gains. But if i follow my current routine I really feel strong and don't feel like i'm overtraining etc.. I would be grateful to here what people think and listen to there advice. Thanks all Ian. |

| Still on the first step - its huge! | I think the problem alot of people have (inc me!) is that there are so many methods and opinions its easy to tie yourself in a knot. Personally, I'd be in the group that thinks "train with high itensity and then let it rest". If I lower the intensity, then I'd maybe increase the frequency. But there is so much more to consider and so many people who will expain a hell of a lot better than me ![]()

| Looking Freaky | IMHO you are doing too much - I don't knwo what your routine looks like but my suggestions would be to only do each body part once per week - you will get more out of it. if you want to go to the gym more just split the days up: day 1 chest, day 2 arms, day 3 legs, day 4 shoulders, day 5 back LESS IS MORE. |

![]() | the problem with bodybuilding is that it is NOT like most other sports... that is why it is not considered a sport.. just because ur training harder, longer and more often that does not mean that u will get more gains than others.... like u said "feel that if I only train say Chest and Bi's on Monday and then don't train those 2 body parts until the following Monday, I really feel that i am cheating myself and i don't get any gains" its a mental thing cause many still think that if they spend 2 hours in the gym, go everyday and go heavy everytime they will grow more... this has been proven wrong time and time again...... think about it this way. if dorian yates was training bodyparts once every 6 days and he was taking dozen of drugs that speed up recovery, why on earth would YOU train more often that him??? but then again if it works for you keep on doing it.... but careful cause the brain(mentality) is a very powerful thing
