![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Your Deadlift Weights Ok, have done my first deadlifts now. Results: Tried just the bar to get the movement right, felt a little awkward at first trying not to bend over too much. Went for 40kg first for 15 reps. then 50kg for 12 reps. then 60kg for 10 reps. then 70kg for 8 reps. Felt ok, I found the hardest thing was trying to keep hold of the bar, felt like it was slipping out of my hands. Happy with my first attempt though. Think I'll stick at 60kg/70kg for a couple of weeks to get use to it before trying to bump it up. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Your Deadlift Weights The 5x5 rep range gave me great thickness from the deadlift! and remember, you need to train for strength in the deadlift to push along your repping sets/weight.... run the original 5x5 then apply that strength gain to reps |

| Progressing | Re: Your Deadlift Weights Currently I'm doing 142.88 Kg X 12, RAW. Bodyweight = 80.7 Kg. I'm 6 weeks back from nearly a year lay off and I'm adding 9 Kg every week; muscle memory and whatnot. I'm going to have to start using straps as my grip is giving and we're not allowed to use chalk >.<. Oh, I use a staggered grip, narrow to shoulder width stance; very strict, BB style. |
