Re: Cardio after my training

Google 'tabatas' my friend (I'm starting to sound like Lost Soul, pmsl....)

After training I do;

30 secs balls to the walls rowing, 10 secs rest.

Repeat 8 times. Goosed. That's tabatas. There's several exercises you can do for tabatas, but they're generally focused around hammering yourself, then resting for 10 secs, then repeat.

Re: Cardio after my training

I seem to burn more fat when my HR is at around 135-140bpm. As I am now 35, roughly my max heart rate is 185bpm, so optimum fat burning for me is around 75% of my HR max as opposed to the normal 60-65%

Some of this is hereditary (genetic) but also because my fitness level is fairly good due to cardio year round. I have to do more to get the same effect as a sedentary person.
