would this work....

Right, just an idea from what a few people have mentioned.

I am looking at doing 'shock muscle' routine on each bodypart with a few weeks between.

Currently training mon/tues/thurs/fri
Each body part (chest, back, shoulders, legs, bi's and tri's) is getting 4 excersices of 3 x 8

Now say, one week, on my back day could i do 2 excercises, say Lat pull downs starting light, and keep moving up the stack non stop to my usual maximum lift to failure then back down again, then same for some bent over rows.
Then leaving it a week or so and doing the same kind of thing for chest ect

Re: would this work....

Muscles aren't sentient - they don't get "shocked", they just grow in response to overload. What you are suggesting is a random increase in volume once in a while and whilst increased training volume can lead to more protein accrual it would work a lot better if your training plan involved systematically fluctuating volume and load in order to allow for long periods of continuous overloading rather than a 1 off volume spike.

Cheers,

G

Making muscles grow is not like putting a man on the moon.

Constantly increasing the weights by small increments will help the muscles grow however as will deloading now and then.

Try shocking the muscles by not training for a week.

If it doesnt work I will suck myself and post the vid on youtube
