| loving the bulk | gymrats killer calf routine right guys done this routine 3days ago and i still cannot put my feet flat on the ground, its basically two sets of 90 reps using a standing calf raise machine, start by doing 30 reps with 80kg of weight or a weight which is barely managable for 30reps, then straight away do 30reps on the platform with your body weight then do another 30 raises standing on the floor(again using body weight) holding the wall, im telling you guys this ****ing killed me, give it a try and i swear you'll not walk for a week, takes all but five minutes to complete aswell, the guy that put me through it says to do 3sets but i was barely capable of finishing the second set. if you try it post your comments up here Last edited by gym rat; 09-05-2008 at 01:52 PM. |

![]() ![]() | Re: gymrats killer calf routine Well I dont know if it makes them ghrow but you definately know youve worked them out which I usually never get unless Ive been running. I only managed 1 set aswell !!! The first 30 on teh machine I had to stop at 15 and have a 30 second rest. Then on bodyweight ons I had a 20 second rest inbetween, I was ok with just raising body weight stood up. Overall cracking routine, I will be using this one from now on and trying to up the sets and weight |

![]() | Re: gymrats killer calf routine Cor that's evil! ![]() I do much the same as crazy cacti... I alternate though with toes in one session, toes out the next and so on. Whilst waiting for each other to finish our sets we try bouncing on the spot too, though not bloody often as some sessions it's too much.

![]() | Re: gymrats killer calf routine I do something similar i call them 75's, You select a weight that takes you to failure at about 20reps then step of the standing raise shake of ya calfs for no more than about 7 secs and get under there again and go too failure you will only get to about 10 reps,Then repeat shake out and back on it you go until you reach 75 reps, You will get less and less reps each time and i promiss you your calfs will grow like never before!!! After some time you get to 75 reps fairly easy, up the weight slightly.Out of all my years training this was the best advive i think i ever got,And like Gym rat stated it only takes 1 set yes thats 1 set!! Only if this worked for all the body parts,Forget the weight and get repping |
