| if you don't fancy me you must be a lesbian | power cleans vs deads i'm not sure if this is the right section but i have done deadlifts for the last few years but in the last month or two i have been doing power cleans, all be it with pi55 poor weights but i am just wondering everyones opinions on power cleans as a replacement for deadlifts i'm a big believer in doing exercises you enjoy, i am enjoying the PC's more then deads but do want to get the better option i'm currently cutting |

| if you don't fancy me you must be a lesbian | Re: power cleans vs deads cheers for the reeplies, i am trying to alternate the two each week (on back day) but i made a beginners error and let it go on 6 weeks just doing power cleans so when i realised this i tried deads and lost about 20kg off the weight which was nice |

i'm also doing the little dip at the top prior to lowering the weight again the weights on the deads dropped loads, so im considering dropping the reps from 4x10 to a 5x5 maybe to get the poundages up again | |

Start with an easy powerclean weight, add 5-20kg each set, depending on your strength, and move from powercleans, to full cleans, to high pulls, to powershrugs to deadlifts as the load gets heavier. Job done. cheers, G |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: power cleans vs deads I went to cleans and my dead lift went up. I think this was because I was trying to get as much bar speed as possible. I would do them both. I do clean and jerks for shoulders. I do stiff leg deads for hams. I do deads for back. I do swap them around some.
