Train whole body EVERYDAY!

Okay, i just want to see how many of you have been there - you know what i mean - the good old days when you knew jack about bodybuilding - had some old sand filled plastic weights in the dark garage and used to train for hours the whole body everyday.

I remember doing this when i was 14 (10 years ago) then i started buying bodybuilding magazines, got together a timetable, and a proper diet.

How many of you remember doing this?

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

I remember when I was about 15/16 & my dad bought himself some plastic 'York' weights from Argos for xmas. I used to watch him squat & do curls so I started copying him. I would get home from school, have me tea, watch 'Neighbours' & do squats & curls for about 3 hours. LMAO.

It soon stopped when I started going to the pub at late 16 drinking Guinness 3 nights a week. LMAO

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

LOL - Started when I was 15, down gym 5 night per week, did two circuits of all the machines each session, this included chest press shoulder press ab crunch quad ext ham curls and lat pull down. Was inducted by a numpty who knew squat (lol) and am now (10 years on) rehabing some shoulder imbalances initiated from this insane routine. What a loser.

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

I just thank the lord the gym couldn't facilitate the likes of deadlifts or squats as I would probably be a cripple now! Anyone else caused themselves any lasting or reoccuring problems from willy nilly training when young???

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

I expect most started that way.

I used to perform bodyweight exercises everyday in my teens, with the occasional visit to the gym(once a week)for good luck.

Apart from the OCD,i dont think it did me any harm at all!

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

It's all part of learning. Luckily the first bit of advice I ever got on training was from a legend, so I started off ok and just learnt from there.

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

I used to train 5 days a week but did alternating days so upper body on one day and then legs the next. Didn't take long for me to realise I was killing myself.

Re: Train whole body EVERYDAY!

I started at 13 doing 30 curls every morning with 8kg dbs and then i did 1000 sit ups and cause i was stupidly lean i would actually have a small amount of muscle to show the girls pmsl.
Then i spent a couple of years doing several hours on the chuck norris total gym and on a cross trainer( was into skating until i was 18 thus i wanted to look lean and muscular with out a shirt)( on days that it rained i would go hmm i want a ben and jerrys so i would do cross trainer until i had that amount of cals burnt and then ate it LOL).
