abs with stomach crunches

Saw a chap doing abs work on the cable machine . He was kneeling in front of machine with overhead cables and crunching stomach. Looed to be doing it all wrong as back flexing . Can someone pls advise me how to do this exercise corerectly and is it better than working on the mat flat or with a swiss ball.

With a swiss ball is it better to use a full ball or a 1/2 ball.
Thanks chaps

Paul

Re: abs with stomach crunches

i really don't get all these different ways to train abs just do crunches on a mat nice and slow contracting the ab muscle way way better than both of the exercises above

Re: abs with stomach crunches

All you need to remember is what the Rectus Abdoms do! They simply bring the thorax towards the pelvis, so keep the pelvis tilted upwards, relax the shoulders and let the abs do the work, simple.
