![]() | Heavy Duty Decided to get the The Wisdom of Mike Mentzer: The Art, Science and Philosophy of a Bodybuilding Legend book today and will be here for tomorrow. I've been training high intensity style since i started training and have got some decent gains since i started training properly again 3 years ago but never really given mike's routines ago been more of a full body and dorian yates style high intensity guy. Anyway gonna give some of mike's routines a go and see if i can progress with less frequency as advocated by him. Am gonna try this and see how it goes. Will make a note of my weight measurements and strengh increased ect and note them down and post up my findings. Just wandered if anyone has tried any of the routines and which one worked best for them?

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Heavy Duty I bought "body building the mike menzter way" recently and i have to say it's one fantastic book. He really is one intelligent man and it really is a shame that he passed away, he had so much knowledge to give out. I tried his consolidation routine for 6 weeks and gained 1 kilo. Which is acually better than i thought as i was only doing 2 sets a week! He definitely hit home that less is better with as high intensity you can do. I now do a routine which is similar to his "ideal routine" which is acually very similar to Bigs routine that he wrote up. I definitely recommend you give his routines a go and i'll assure you, you'll never train super high volume again! |

![]() | Re: Heavy Duty I'm looking forwards to trying mike's routines. Only thing i'm bothered about is training so infrequently cos i enjoy going to the gym but i'll be working in one soon so i guess that will become a plus eventually lol!

![]() | Re: Heavy Duty I was fortunate to have met Mike in his prime, '80, and then proud to become one of his phone consult clients in '95. Joanne Sharkey assures me, mine was one of the last emails Mike read before he went to that that fateful night. So I am delighted to see others applying his principles with much success!
