Do you consider DOMS to be a sign of progress?

With a couple of workouts I've tried I've not experienced DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). Do you guys consider DOMS to be a sign of a good workout and do you think that is a sign growth?

I know that DOMS is thought to be tearing of the muscles. Doesn't this lead to regrowth bigger?

I'm fairly certain that even if you don't experience DOMS your workout will still help you grow, but would you take a workout out in which you experience DOMS over a workout in which you didnt?

Not sure where I should have posted this, so please move if needed mods.

DOMS is NOT a good measure of progress at all.

Hey Big !

I'm a little confused ... I thought DOMS COULD be a good way of measuring progress ? DOMS occurs when you work out a muscle, causing microscopic tears, correct ? These tears would then need be rebuilt to be bigger. So couldn't it be a good way to gauge progress ? I also understand, there is a point where it goes to far ... Where you've hammered the muscle so hard, that you've done more damage to the muscle than you should have.

I do understand it is not NEEDED to be a good progress indicator, but personally, I use it as one. I can't remember the last day I wasn't sore from a workout. I remember 5 years ago when I was 17 and doing bodyparts 3 X per week because Arnold told me too ... I was feeling no soreness at all, but I wasn't progressing at all either.

Just need a little clarification bro

The only sure way to gauge progress is the weights you're lifting, the tape measure and the bodyfat calipers.

DOMs is very inaccurate, and in many cases useless.
