![]() | Had a real good workout the other day Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you know about the workout I had the other day. I wanted to do an abbreviated workout as I am on anti-biotics at the moment and did not want to do to much. So here is what I did. Chest Flat bench 4 sets Shoulders Standing miltary press 4 sets Triceps Dips (keeping more upright) 4 sets That is. It took about 30-40 mins and I had a great pump and I am really sore from it the next day. Just to show that you don't need to spend 2 hours doing just chest and that sometimes less is better. It is not that different from my normal workout as I do the same split but normally 2 exercises per body part. Also I found that I could lift more in each as I was not wasting energy on other things and I was doing the dips at the end with 20kg around my waist for 15 reps no problem and I weight about 97-98kg myself. I think I will do this again next week and see how I get on. Also my anti-biotics Ciproxin have pages of side effects which include tendon pain and tendon rupture especially the achilles which is worrying. Should I not train legs/calves whilst on them or just stay light.

![]() ![]() ![]() | glad to see someone else finding the "less is more approach" working. I think that it can be a very good way to train!

Legs? Well I would cut calves and do them when you get off the Ciproxin. Calves hit the achillies so lay off them for a couple of weeks. Leg extensions and leg curls should not hurt you. I am a firm believer in less is best. Presses hit alot of the body and develop alot of power. Your lifts will be up as you did not pre-fetigue them with the other overlapping lifts. Nice job even tho you were sick. Well, up the water and you might want to take some good fats in. Keep the meals small and dont forget to rest. Dont forget to keep the partying to a minimum if you can ![]()

| UK-Muscle Moderator | after some consideration i have just cut my sets down on biceps and triceps to 9 sets instead of 12. it was hard as i have alway done 12 sets for every bodypart but to be honest i find it better infact alot better. i can go heavier and get a better pump. think im becoming a less is more person.

I still kindof agree with that thought sometimes. I would not do that every workout but I would throw that in sometimes. Just did that last Friday with biceps in fact.

![]() | I train biceps after back so they are already pumped up and I do straight barbell curls going heavy with a bit of a swing to get the bar moving on the last few reps but never leaning back. I see some guys leaning back so much it looks like they are training for a limbo competition. I always do a drop set on my last set of barbell curls that is staight after my last heavy set I strip the weight and continue with no rest to complete failure. After that my arms are so pumped I have problems lifting them with no weight and could leave it at that but I normally also do a couple sets of hammers and some wrist curls as well to finish of.
