How to train for "maintenance"?

I am nearly reaching my goal of 65 kgs of pure muscle weight (by the end of the year hopefully). Once I get there, I intend to maintain what I have and so not really buildling. Problem is, all my life I have learnt to build so now that it is nearly time to maintain, I don't have a clue how to:confused:

Sets, reps, weight etc....

Ahhhhh, Meera you lucky thing, I won't achieve 'maintenance' until I'm 330Ibs at 12% bf, but hey, only 3 stone of flab to lose and 6 of lean mass to gain...

I think the trick, generally, is to tilt the balance between weights and cardio a bit more towards cardio - you alone will have to trial and error what a 'bit' is exactly.

diet is critical

I think diet is also crucial.
You need to make sure that you have enough carb intake to not burn the muscle tissue for energy.
But you also have to make sure you are not eating too much (if your weight lifting now is just maintaining and not building) cardio comes into play here.

Your body will think itself at a plateau at some point and will not grow anymore.
The muscles will grow only if you add more stress to them by adding more weight to your lifts.

Keep the diet adequate in carbohydrates for energy but not flab gain and keep the weights the same sounds like a good beginning to maintaining. Take into account that the body adapts quickly to whatever you do.

You keep losing muscle as you age so I am not sure if the concept of 'maintainance' is valid.

COOL 65 KG of solid muscle!

I am hoping that I am about 61-62 kg this season at about 8% body fat!

I am going to be brave me thinks and post some contest prep
