![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | SilentBob, Hackskii, Winger!! Lost 10lbs Need It Back! Hey fellas As some of you may know I've been ill lately with glandular fever and I today was my first session for 5 weeks. I weighed myself today and I'm down 10lbs to 170lbs. My diet has been sh*t low protein/medium carbs/medium fat. I really need to get my weight back up, will it take long if my diet is good and I lift hard? Cheers, Jock

![]() | i know quite a few people in ur situation guy at my gym was the same lost over a stone, he said it was because his muscles had gone soft due to lack of training he said he went back to his old diet and training and has already put half a stone back on in 2 weeks 5 weeks break with little food wilkl make u lose weight but soft muscle grows faster then hard muscle so you should be alright mate, just train hard and eat more and u might end up bigger then beforee!

If you put it back on to fast you will put it on the wrong way. This is normal and dont worry. We all get sick now and then.:(

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Jock, Sorry, I didnt spot this post for a while. As the other guys said, you should have no problem gaining it back. When Arnold injured his leg during his competitive days, the injured leg shrunk to just 23 inches. He gained the size back in only a couple of months of training, whereas it took him years to get that size in the first place. Muscle memory is an incredible thing. Muscle memory is actually one of the strongest factors in steroid use. Many people lose some or even all of their gains from steroids when they stop using but just the fact that the user has gained that level of musculature makes it much easier for them to gain that size back. It is easier to regain muscle you once had than to build new muscle. Just keep protein and carbs high, build your training back up gradually and dont be too hard on yourself. Glandular fever is pretty tough so dont rush yourself in getting over it.

![]() | I have been really busy with uni assignments and exams at the moment and have not trained for nearly 3 weeks, I have been getting about an hours sleep a night and living on take away food. All this while I am on pct. Luckily I haven't really lost any weight (still about 215) but my strength must be down. I am going to start back on wednesday with a simplified training spilt to ease back into it. I will be doing just two different workouts. 1 day on 1 day of for a couple of weeks 1 chest, shoulders and triceps 2 legs, back and bieceps just 2 basic exercises per body part. Then I will go back to my normal training unless I am making good gains with this one in which case I might stick at it a bit longer. What I am saying it don't try jumping straight back into it take it easy, eat well and you will be back in not time (just look how quickly paul recovered!)

![]() ![]() | I agree with the others. Get back into the routine and it will soon come back. Biggest thing you need to be carefull of though, is the temptation to try and lift too heavy too soon when you are getting back into it. Otherwise you risk injury which will set yourself back even more. :( |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the support fellas, I've been lifting again for 1 week now, I started back @ 169lbs. I weighed myself yesterday and I've gained 4.5lbs (I've been eating properly again + lots of Met-rx MRP'S I got on the cheap) I'm glad about the weight I've gained, but my strength still sucks, my bench press is down 22lbs, my squat 22lbs and my deadlift 11lbs. I'm feeling very down and depressed about my strength at the moment, sometimes I don't even feel like training, but I know that I have to lift through this. Any advice would be welcomed, Thanks, Jock

![]() | Thats not that much of a strength drop at all. I have lost a lot more like 20 kg on my bench (although for a few more reps). Keep the reps up for a few weeks and then slowly reduce them and increase your weight to blast through your previous personal bests.

| UK-Muscle Male Animal | Well you guys arent going to like this but I think post cycle you need to train heavy. Unless you dont want to keep your hard earned gains in strength. Train heavy but just do less sets. I have been at a tes level of 10 times lower than normal and I have maintained my strength, for over 6 months. How do I do that you ask? Train heavy and just do one work set per excercise. Two or three work sets per bodypart. Simple math. If you want to loose your strength then do what all the other posts say. If you want good advice on the post cycle recovery stuff let me know. I can blow your minds. :guns:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Winger - that's not bad advice for all year round training let alone post cycle! I've switched to doing just one work set per exercise and feel that I'm really making great gains. I think particularly when you're either a natural trainer like me or if you're coming off roids, there is a lot to be said for doing short intense workouts.

| UK-Muscle Male Animal | Thanks silentbob. Everybody thinks you have to spend 2 hours in the gym 5 or 6 days a week.
